I Wrote 1000 Words Yesterday

What a stunning feat. This may become a new habit for me, if I’m gonna be full-time.

From what I’ve heard, Stephen King writes this way too. I’m not up for the whole experience, but it’s worth looking into. Is there more to the regime.

Also, Target’s closing down, so books were as cheap as $5. Right now, I’m looking for romance books, but I found The Woman in Cabin 10. It’s lined up after finishing Way of Kings, Harry Potter, and one other book. I’ve heard good things about it, but also some bad things, so here’s hoping I enjoy it.

As I keep sleeping on my neck wrong, wish me luck in writing today.

Neck Pain + Reconsidering My Plans

I had a crazy day yesterday.

Every now and then, mum and I babysit the kids next door. We did so yesterday, and decided we’d go to the beach’s waterpark.

We got there, and were met with a playground without water. Turned out the power was down for some reason. The public baths were right next to it, but it seemed a little deep for the child. Oh well.

We had gelato instead, which was part of the plan anyway. When it comes to the ice cream, it’s absolutely scrumptious. It’s a highlight of mine each time we visit. This is where my pain started.

I already strained my shoulder a few days ago, but wearing my bag, the weight bothered both shoulders. Now my trapezium muscle is in so much pain. It shoots down my right arm, and I couldn’t sleep so well because of it.

I don’t even want a massage. Don’t touch my shoulders lmao.

At least I can write still. Which is the other matter.

After graduating high school I had nothing but ideas for characters that stuck with me. Last year was too tough to focus on it, so I could barely write fiction. They’ve started returning.

I realised I got too serious about novels and things, but maybe fragments can put together something meaningful. There’s a few buzzing around for once. Wish me luck.

I Made a Goodreads

For a few days, I was considering this move. But, if I want to read more this year, I might as well get it going. I’ve started small, and hope to branch out through the year.

You can find me here.

Gotta say, I didn’t expect the site to be so user friendly and packed with features. Luckily, my dad’s a bookworm, and we have books aplenty. Here’s to more good reads!

As for EQ, I need to add it on there, but it’s too early to do so.

1/21 Pt 2

So I opened up WordPress and did some reading, and it turns out this came double true.

We all know about Trump snubbing the inauguration and heading to Florida, but I read one person’s blog, where I was following a bit of drama.

The story is, this person and their manager had to work with a suspected scammer. Not only was he shady, but an absolute misogynist. Today, the guy quit weeks into “working” together. I need a mai tai.

Tomorrow will be a challenging day, indeed, as numerology points me to what I call a discovery day. In the next few days, someone will lose their cool. Now to wait for pt 3 on the 12th next month. I may need to add it with 4/21 to get a clearer picture of events.

If you wish to find out more, please consider buying my book Evermore Quatrain. Happy hunting!

8,500 Words Reached

I had a big ol revelation while sitting around and feeling lost again. Because I feel lost so much, I’ve started a writing journal and am counting how many times I feel lost.

With each sentence of 12M I write, I get more excited to properly introduce the characters, but I know that’s premature. If you’ve followed me a while, you know about the haunted painting of Karu Hajji. If I’m not so lazy, there may be more tidbits.

Soon, I get to print the whole manuscript and edit. Clean draft, here I come!

Why My Pen Name

If you’ve ever taken a look at my book cover, you’ll notice I have a strange pen name. It’s the same as my WordPress handle, but you may be thinking “What possessed you to have such a weird pen name?”

There is meaning behind this name! It’s funny, but to show you how dead serious I am to keep it, I’ll explain it.

“Invader Stim” is an obvious one, if you’ve watched Invader Zim. “Stim”, for those of you who don’t know, is a repetitive act with the intent to stimulate or relax. This includes flapping arms, clapping, and running your hand over a texture. I like to lay on my stomach or have my legs up while sitting on a chair. The way I walk (a little waddle) is also a stim.

“Homerpants” is a longer story. It may be the fact that I own a pair of Simpsons pants (I love The Simpsons), but it’s also my valkyrie name. When written in Celtic runes, “Homrpantr” is the name of a mysterious, yet lucky rider. She rides for justice, and cuts deeply with her words. Don’t believe me? Here it is:

Snazzy.

My grandpa liked it as soon as he heard it, and he’s never heard of The Simpsons. So, there you have it. I’m keeping the name forever. Besides, it’s a good laugh.

I hope you enjoy your day!

7500 Words Reached

It took me ages to get through a slump, but I made it yesterday. If there’s anything I’ve learnt as a novelist, though, it’s that I shouldn’t raise such high expectations of myself for rough drafts.

I had the project goal at 30,000 words, but as I near the end, I’ll cut it down to 10,000. And if I ever write another novel (which sounds far-off for now), I’ll do the same for that. Good gravy! The draft’s nearly done. For once I feel good about it.

Twelfth Meridian is the light of my life, and I’m excited to make the move to clean draft.

Underwriting

If there’s anything I learnt about myself in 2020, it’s the fact that I’m an underwriter. After publishing my first book, I felt lost, and for those few days I hated 12M’s rough draft.

Why? New ideas came to mind, and rewriting old scenes felt like a chore. That was, until I reminded myself: It’s still the rough draft. What I have is bare bones, but I can still do more.

I rewrote extra copies, and thanks to Scrivener, I could plop the rewrites into the same scene without losing it. When I print it for editing, it’s less paper waste. And I suspect it’ll be easier to add descriptions and the main character’s thoughts.

My next worry is missing pieces in the clean draft. But maybe I’m thinking too forward. Here’s to fresh ideas for the ninth chapter!

It Came True

Not in the way I expected, though. If you just got here, please read my post “Quatrain 1/21“.

This morning, I sat down after feeding my baby, and turned the TV over to the news. We had ourselves the last ten or so minutes, but lo and behold.

I forgot about the riots in the US, which are bound to happen for a while. But I also found out the democrats were calling a second impeachment. Peanuts have two heads? Joe Biden said some stuff as well, but I can’t remember it.

Now we wait for the 21st. For my time zone, that’s when Biden takes office.

Quatrain 1/21

If you haven’t checked my page for Evermore Quatrain, I’ll explain the gist here: Evermore Quatrain is much like Nostradamus’s book, with a modern twist. Researchers and translators predict based on wording and what are called “index dates”. You can do the same in EQ, and you get tips on how to predict.

Today, we’re looking at index date 1/21. For Century 1, I used Lenormand to write each line.

Someone so seductive
Yet highly defensive
Will break their back for peanuts
When their lies return to them

It reminded me of Donald Trump as soon as I finished it, and by the way he’s been carrying on, it fits. However, this prophecy is only partly completed. From what we’ve seen, he’s conceded defeat, and then he was banned on Twitter.

Further predictions

I predict a tirade on social media and news tomorrow, as it’s the 12th. Trump is incredibly predictable, so he’s likely to throw insults. But the real money is on the 21st, where the long arm of the law catches up with him. This, of course, won’t be broadcast until later in the year.

Enough about Trump. I saw another celebrity in this, and this could be a woman. The earliest I see this is the 11th of February, and going by my numerology forecast, this lines up. It’s foggy, and more like someone else’s accusations. This could either be JK Rowling (not a surprise) or something as out there as Nigella Lawson (I hope not).

Funnily enough, a Valentine’s Day prediction lines up with that, but we may visit that later. If you would like to know more, Evermore Quatrain is available in paperback, and pre-order on ebook.
