Everything

We work in unique ways to perfect a piece of media. Like I mentioned before, there are rules to pieces of text, and that’s one of my favourite things to work with. We call it the ‘rating’. It looks like a big title on the top of a white page, and then some letters, numbers, and punctuation mashed together.

Others work with the body of the text. Each paragraph has one line of a message by twisting the words into a directive, and a whole message fills a page. When the meaning and the text line up, that’s where the magic is.

I gave a rating to Eddie. “If it looks like garble, that’s because it is,” I said.

“Duly Noted.” Eddie is dyslexic.

But at the time of beginning this job, we only had three main processes. So I taught him how to highlight the ratings every three characters. For this one, you work from the bottom upwards. Now someone had to decipher the characters separately.

For others, it depends on their nature. Nature is the opposite of who we are, and it makes for great story-telling, but we dared not act upon it, for the most part.

My brother, Cloud, discovered his own. His nature is Colour, as he likes things beige. He made art that was abstract, but never coloured it in. He began watercolour painting on them as he drew out line after line, interpreting a piece of text. He’s not perfected the process, but perhaps someone can interpret that (he doesn’t want that lmao).

I, myself, try a bit of everything. It’s painstaking, but it’s my duty. The duty is the opposite of the nature, and so my duty is Everything.
