Why My Pen Name

If you’ve ever taken a look at my book cover, you’ll notice I have a strange pen name. It’s the same as my WordPress handle, but you may be thinking “What possessed you to have such a weird pen name?”

There is meaning behind this name! It’s funny, but to show you how dead serious I am to keep it, I’ll explain it.

“Invader Stim” is an obvious one, if you’ve watched Invader Zim. “Stim”, for those of you who don’t know, is a repetitive act with the intent to stimulate or relax. This includes flapping arms, clapping, and running your hand over a texture. I like to lay on my stomach or have my legs up while sitting on a chair. The way I walk (a little waddle) is also a stim.

“Homerpants” is a longer story. It may be the fact that I own a pair of Simpsons pants (I love The Simpsons), but it’s also my valkyrie name. When written in Celtic runes, “Homrpantr” is the name of a mysterious, yet lucky rider. She rides for justice, and cuts deeply with her words. Don’t believe me? Here it is:

Snazzy.

My grandpa liked it as soon as he heard it, and he’s never heard of The Simpsons. So, there you have it. I’m keeping the name forever. Besides, it’s a good laugh.

I hope you enjoy your day!
