I’ve officially reached 1000 words on my project. It took a few tries to make something cohesive and planned. I’ve realised how much perfectionism I’ve put into the project and how toxic it is. It’s a relief to finally connect things and brings important scenes to the forefront. Soon it will be 1500, then 2000 and beyond! Soon I won’t even notice how far I’ve come and feel happy just writing.

Congrats on the milestone! Now that you know how bad perfectionism is for your craft, I advice you to take it one step further. Write the first draft with the intent of making it the worst you’ve ever done. You’d be surprised at how decent it’ll turn out. Good luck with your WIP!

That’s the best advice I’ve ever heard in my life. Thank you!

Congratulations.. Belatedly! And when I feel too stressed or pressured, I try writing about something ridiculously random.. like bananas. I try short funny poems too. 😊
My brain is not awake, not even in the day. But if it had some cake.. perhaps I’d change my ways.(Sorry, definitely not awake.) ðŸ¤

I have a little Scrivener file full of scenes in case I want to take a break from the novel. At least it’s still productive there, as it builds up some background story

That’s a great idea.. I should probably put all of my writing in one place. Anyway. Good luck! Have a wonderful day! 😊
